A native of Changaramkulam, located approximately 10 km from the institution, he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) from Narayana Medical and Dental College, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.
Since joining Royal Dental College in 2014, he has built an accomplished academic career with 12 years of experience in undergraduate and postgraduate dental education. His academic interests include Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), oral cancer screening, oral potentially malignant disorders, oral mucosal diseases, and evidence-based clinical practice.
As the Administrative Coordinator of Royal Dental College since 2014, Dr. Ajmal Mohamed has played a key role in academic planning, institutional administration, quality assurance initiatives, and the coordination of various academic and administrative activities, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the institution.
In addition to his academic career, Dr. Ajmal Mohamed is the Founder and Director of 3Di Scans, a leading network of CBCT imaging centres in Kerala. Established with the vision of making advanced maxillofacial imaging accessible to dental professionals and patients, 3Di Scans has become a trusted provider of high-quality diagnostic imaging services across the state.
Recognizing the importance of integrating advanced imaging into dental education, 3Di Scans has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Royal Dental College. This academic collaboration provides undergraduate and postgraduate students with hands-on training in CBCT imaging, exposure to contemporary diagnostic technologies, opportunities for clinical discussions and case-based learning, faculty development programmes, and collaborative research activities. The partnership strengthens the clinical and academic training of students while promoting innovation and evidence-based patient care.
